The Mexico City Woodwind Quintet will perform at Texas Tech this week.

The group will perform a recital of Latin-American dances at 8 p.m. October 4th in Hemmle Recital Hall, located inside the Texas Tech School of Music.

The group has gained acclaim through participation in music festivals such as the International Cervantino Festival, the International New Music Forum, and the Franco Donatoni International Contemporary Music Festival.

The members of the Mexico City Woodwind Quintet are flautist Asako Arai, Josepth Shalita on Oboe, Fernando Dominguez on Clarinet, Wendy Holdaway on Bassoon, and horn player Paul Miller.

The event is free and open to the public.

The quintet will also present an open lecture on Mexican music in the 20th century at 5 p.m. on October 3rd in Hemmle Recital Hall.
