On Friday's edition of Lubbock's First News, Tom and Laura spoke with Margaret Anne Brown, the original candidate for Lubbock County Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace before the filing deadline was extended, about her campaign.

Brown is the daughter of Jean Anne Stratton, the current Justice of the Peace, whose last minute attempt to withdraw from the position was accepted by Carl Tepper of the Lubbock County Republican Party. Brown's filing to run last minute (before the deadline was extended) brought her and Stratton's actions under scrutiny. The filing deadline was then extended, bringing in four other candidates. The Republican Primary race will take place March 4.

Brown is a Lubbock native. She has experience in human resources, data entry, corporate sales, and business management. She is a ten-year member of the Lion's Club and has worked with the Republican Party of Lubbock. Brown said, "I think my mother has done a very good job.... I a have the best person to go to if I have questions." Get more details by listening to the interview.
