On Friday's edition of Lubbock's First News, Lubbock Mayor Tom Martin joined Chad and Rex in studio to discuss the latest news out of City Hall.

At Wednesday's city council meeting, an ordinance was passed that requires street vendors to obtain a street use license. Martin said that this move was to help maintain order on the public streets:

"It's a constant, on-going thing to be able to maintain order within the public right-of-way. This issue here is not whether we want pizza sales...it's how you regulate it so that you don't have these issues."

Mayor Martin also talked about the possibility of a city and county health department. He said he is optimistic about the possibility, and that it is up to the county to decided whether or not they will participate. He also talked about alcohol sales, Delwin Jones, cell phone bans, and who he supports in the GOP Presidential race.
