On Friday's edition of Lubbock's First News, Lubbock Mayor Tom Martin joined Chad and Rex in studio to talk about yesterday's city council meeting.

On of the biggest issues to come out yesterday's meeting was the decision to let Tent City stay in its current location for 30 months. Martin said that the plan was originally 6 months, but that Link Ministries would plan to build a permanent shelter at that location that would replace the tents. According to Link Ministries, several of the area businesses now support their decision Martin said that, regardless of how the situation turns out, the tents will not be a permanent solution for the homeless in Lubbock.

Martin also talked about some other issue that had been brought up in yesterday's meeting. Some of those included the plans for e new Water Treatment Facility and the closing of portions of road to make way for school expansions.
