Mayor Tom Martin Recovering from Surgery

Lubbock Mayor Tom Martin is recovering after hernia surgery this morning at Covenant-Lakeside Hospital.

KFYO News spoke to the mayor’s wife at about 1 p.m. and she said he was out of surgery and was beginning to wake up.  A city hall source said the surgery was related to a previous back operation.

There is no word yet how long the mayor may be out of action.  If Mayor Martin misses the next meeting of the Lubbock City Council, the meeting will be chaired by Mayor Pro Tem Floyd Price, from District 2.
