Occupy Lubbock protesters have gotten the OK from Mayor Tom Martin to stay on their current plot of land.

The Mayor Tuesday said the Occupy protesters are exercising their first amendment rights on the land which had no curfew. The Mayor’s stance comes during a time of turmoil in the Occupy movement, with protesters at Wall Street and in Dallas facing up against law enforcement in legal battles. The Lubbock movement is now one month in the making.  Protesters say they are in for the long haul, and have begun to prepare for colder weather.
