Mayor Glen Robertson: The Buy-Out of Excel Energy Was Not A Great Deal For the Citizens of Lubbock

Cole Shooter, KFYO.com.

On Lubbock’s First News on KFYO, Mayor Glen Robertson was asked:

Q: If you were mayor a couple of years ago, would you have done the deal with Excel Energy to buy out Excel?

Robertson: I would not.  I don’t think it was a great deal for the citizens of Lubbock.  I think we paid too much money.”

Robertson said it’s not been profitable.  But he admits…

“It’s very easy to have 20-20 vision and be an armchair quarterback 2 ½ years later.”
