Lubbock Mayor Glen Robertson joined Lubbock’s First News Friday, Sept. 25 to discuss his interest in running for Congress.

With Randy Neugebauer announcing that he will not seek re-election in District 19, Mayor Robertson expressed his interest in running.

"I will tell you, I have a desire to be the next congressman for District 19, but I love what I’m doing now," said Robertson. "I like being mayor, I like the job I have, I like the people I’m working with and I feel like we’re headed in an extremely positive direction now."

Robertson said considering running has been one of the most difficult decisions he's ever had to face.

"When you start contemplating running for Congress, you've got to look at your family, you've got to look at your health, you've got to look at your business situation," he said.
