Friday on Lubbock's First News, Mayor Glen Robertson gave a recap of the Lubbock City Council meeting that took place Thursday.

Robertson commented on Sam Medina's resignation. He also observed Latrelle Joy's decision to be excused from the vote based upon her representation of Eric Medina. He said that funding for and involvement with the NELCDC will be voted upon at a future meeting. Finally, Robertson commented on the Atmos energy rate increase approved. The rate will increase about an average of $3 on each bill. He said, "We reached the best compromise we could. We're not happy with it. Atmos Energy is not really happy with it. So we probably came to the fairest conclusion we could."
