Monday on The Chad Hasty Show, Matt Mackowiak joined Chad to talk about all the news and current events in politics.

The main topic of course was the primary race for the Republican nomination. Donald Trump stays in the news, retaining the number one position in the polls, while constantly in controversy over happenings such as his recent comments about Muslims who cheered the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, and the issue over possibly tracking refugees and/or Muslims in a database.

Hasty asked Mackowiak his thoughts on how other GOP candidates might fight against Trump's steady polling numbers. Mackowiak said,

Other people have gone after Trump and they haven't really done very well. And that includes Perry, that includes Lindsey Graham, even [Bobby] Jindal. There's a lot of people have tried, even Jeb [Bush] to some extent have gone after Trump and they haven't hurt him. I don't think you'll see Cruz do that, I mean he may draw a contrast here or there on an issue, but he'll do it in a very soft way.
