Monday on The Chad Hasty Show Washington Times columnist and political analyst Matt Mackowiak joined the show to talk about the Senate race between Senator Ted Cruz and Democrat challenger Beto O'Rourke, the retirement of Speaker of the House Paul from Congress, and the upcoming mid-term elections.

When asked by Hasty if he has seen any recent polling on the Cruz versus O'Rourke race, Mackowiak began with,

I generally think O'Rourke is in the high thirties, low forties-type range, which is about probably where he'll end up, maybe in the mid-forties. I think Cruz is fine, I really do.

While speaking about the standings and priorities of GOP members of Congress, with the mid-term elections looming, Mackowiak said,

Everybody needs to focus on holding the House. If you think Trump hates Washington right now, wait until Democrats have subpoena power and an ability to impeach him through the House, and he's going to really hate Washington. So holding the House is job one, and that's what every single member of Congress, whether they're in a competitive seat or not, has to be focused on.
