Monday on The Chad Hasty Show GOP strategist Matt Mackowiak joined the show to talk with Chad about the presidential election, conservative media, and the big news from the weekend concerning the revelation that the FBI is reopening the investigation involving mishandling of classified emails by Hilary Clinton and her staff while she was Secretary of State.

During the discussion about the news of the investigation, Mackowiak said,

It's put the Clinton campaign on defense, they've begun attacking the very person they were praising for his integrity, mere weeks or months ago. And now, because there appears to be no way to dispense with this story between now and election day, days from now, she's going to have this cloud hanging over her. And so we don't know whether this is just a PR problem for her for eight days, or a legal problem for her that could last months or years.

Mackowiak and Hasty also discussed issues in this story at Business Insider. Asked by Hasty as to how he can blame conservative talk radio and other media for the current fractured condition of the Republican Party, Mackowiak replied,

Let me be clear. I don't put all conservative media in the same bucket. I think there have been a number of very responsible actors in the conservative media throughout the last year, that have, yes, presented Trump's case, but have also raised questions about the way that he's approached politics and his ideological views. I certainly wouldn't put your show in any kind of dangerous category.

Mackowiak continued to talk about many items that could be considered as remedial actions to help in repairing the GOP.
