Monday on The Chad Hasty Show, Washington Times columnist and political analyst Matt Mackowiak joined the show to discuss what may be expected in the near future  from Washington, D.C. and Congress, as well as the Texas Legislature and speaker race.

Mackowiak also talked about what the atmosphere in Washington will be like, and what possibility there is of actual progress taking place. One of the areas in which Mackowiak sees the possibility of seriousness from both Democrats and Republicans, is national infrastructure. Mackowiak said,

There is an opportunity for both sides to come together. It's a big-ticket item, it would help the economy, it would be something both sides to come to, it would be good for the future of the country. So I think that is one issue where you will see some bipartisan work, and hopefully some bipartisan progress
