Monday on The Chad Hasty Show, political analyst and Washington Times columnist Matt Mackowiak joined Chad to discuss the Hurricane Harvey situation, as well as politics on the national level, including the prospects of tax reform and the repeal of "Obamacare".

While discussing the ongoing Hurricane Harvey disaster, Mackowiak said,

From what I've seen, the feds have responded well. The governor gave the president and his team an A+ so far. But the recovery is going to be a multi-year effort.

About the possibility of tax reform being accomplished this year, Mackowiak said,

I do think there's a good chance they can pass it this year. I think there's greater unanimity among Republicans on tax reform than there was on health care, and they know they have to do something this year. And if they make the tax cuts retroactive, which they're planning to do, that's going to juice the economy almost immediately.
