On Monday's edition of The Chad Hasty Show, GOP strategist Matt Mackowiak joined Chad to talk about national and Texas politics, including "Obamacare" and possible executive actions by the President.

Mackowiak and Hasty discussed the future of Texas government, and the race for Speaker of the House between representative Joe Straus and freshman representative Scott Turner.

On the national front, Mackowiak and Hasty talked about upcoming challenges for Republicans in the U.S. Senate. When asked about a possible political shutdown in response to President Obama's possible executive actions, Mackowiak said,

I just think shutting down the government generally is a political loser, it certainly has been the last 20 years.

Mackowiak continued,

This executive order is designed to make Republicans overreact.
