Monday on The Chad Hasty Show, political analyst and Washington Times columnist Matt Mackowiak joined Chad to talk about the latest in news and politics.

Mackowiak and Hasty discussed the recent trend of Republicans announcing retirements from Congress, as well as illegal immigration, DACA, border security, and the possibility of a government shutdown in the near future.

While answering Hasty's question about what the announced retirements might mean, Mackowiak said,

Most of these seats where these retirements are happening are not happening in competitive districts.
