Monday on the Chad Hasty Show, GOP strategist Matt Mackowiak spoke with Chad about how the races are looking for Dan Branch and David Dewhurst, as well as Rick Perry's endorsement of Mitch McConnell.

Mackowiak observed that Dan Branch and David Dewhurst are falling behind their opponents in their race for Attorney General and Lieutenant Governor, respectively. He said this was because they are not the most conservative candidates on the ballot, which makes a difference in getting a solid voter base. However, he said "In politics you never say never" and that both have a chance in the runoff. Mackowiak also noted that people are not happy with those currently in office, so that could make a difference. He said, "I think right now it's very dangerous to be an incumbent."

Finally, Mackowiak made some observations and gave some insight on Rick Perry's endorsement of Mitch McConnell for Senator. He said that although the move seems controversial, he believes Perry is trying to set himself apart from Ted Cruz. Get more details by listening to the interview below.
