Monday on The Chad Hasty Show, Washington Times columnist and political analyst Matt Mackowiak joined the show to talk about the latest news in politics.

Mackowiak and Hasty discussed Donald Trump's controversial selection of Rex Tillerson to be the next Secretary of State. The Tillerson nomination is being questioned by some, mainly because as Exxon Mobil CEO, Tillerson has a long standing business relationship with Russia and Russian President Vladmir Putin.

Asked about his thoughts on the nomination of Tillerson, Mackowiak said,

To me, the fact that [former Defense Secretary Robert] Gates and [former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice] both specifically recommended Tillerson to the Trump administration, I think says a lot about his abilities, says a lot about his reputation, says a lot about what they think he can do in that job, and that gives me a lot of confidence.
