A marijuana rights group has formed a chapter in Lubbock.

The National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML) is kicking off the beginning of the Hub City NORML chapter with a music festival and speeches.

The keynote address will be from Jeff Blackburn of the Texas Innocence Project and legal council for NORML.

According to press release today from Hub City NORML,

As the newest chapter of NORML, we have needs. The Hub City NORML Conference and Music Fest is designed to be our 'coming out' party, and our first fundraiser.  It's high time we bring some factual information to the folks of Lubbock, and encourage them to use their own votes wisely.

The festivities start tomorrow at the Lone Star Oyster Bar starting at 6 p.m. in Downtown Lubbock.The Hub City NORML Conference and Music Fest will feature 17 bands and over $2,000 of merchandise to be given away in a raffle.

Merchandise includes pipes, t-shirts, books, tattoos, and vaporizers.
