A man who neighbors believed was napping underneath a tree in Lubbock was actually dead. The man was reportedly there for two days.

When police responded to a call about the man Tuesday afternoon (March 1), they discovered he was deceased.

According to Everything Lubbock, nearby residents had noticed the unidentified man underneath the tree, but didn't contact authorities because they believed he was just sleeping.

It's unclear if the man was homeless. His body was discovered on 58th Street near Ave. L.

Lubbock police are investigating the incident, but do not currently suspect foul play.
