Police have located the man pictured in a surveillance photo release relating to a June 1st forgery, and it turns out that he is not the one they were looking for.

Lubbock Police Sergeant Jonathan Stewart says that the man pictured in the release sent out Tuesday is not a suspect in the forgery case.

Stewart says that the Wal-Mart on 82nd Street and Milwaukee Avenue mistakenly provided the wrong video. Police say the person shown had no involvement in the forgery.

The forgery occurred around 4:35 p.m. on June 1st, when the suspect cashed a $900 check at the Southwest Lubbock Wal-Mart. Investigators have determined that the forged check was stolen from the mail.

A photo of the actual suspect has not yet been provided.
