A Lubbock man has been indicted following an August shooting between two children.

32-year-old Justin Jones was arrested Wednesday morning, following a Monday indictment by a Lubbock County grand jury.

Jones’ 4-year-old son Tyler was rushed to the hospital on August 20th, after being accidentally shot by his 5-year-old brother.

Jones has been indicted on a charge of causing reckless injury to a child by failing to secure a firearm. He was terminated from his job with the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office, which he held for over 7 years.

Jail records show that Jones is out of jail on $100,000 bond.
