Man Dies in Dallas Police Custody
A man died in police custody in the Dallas area early this morning.
Off-duty officers say they were working at an apartment complex when they encountered a man who was acting erratically. Officers say they attempted to speak to him in the courtyard of the complex but that he would not respond. Backup was called, and a struggle ensued.
The Dallas Morning News reports officers realized the man was having difficulty breathing after they subdued and handcuffed him. He was taken to Baylor Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
