Lubbock Police have one man in custody following a Wednesday morning standoff.

39-year-old Shane Marck has been charged with Criminal Trespass, after an off-duty officer heard a gunshot in the 3700 block of 107th Street around 6 a.m.

Marck was reportedly in the home of James Thorne’s mother, and Thorne has said that he fired a shot to warn Marck, and to help protect the people inside the home. Marck is believed to have entered the home unarmed, but took a gun from inside the home and returned fire.

Nearby houses were evacuated in case of emergency, and Marck was in police custody by 7:30 a.m.

No injuries were reported in the incident. No word yet on the relationship between Marck and the residents of the home.
