The City of Sweetwater and the Make-A-Wish Foundation need your help in making a 6-year old boy's dream come true this Saturday (9/13).

Randy Rodriguez is a six-year-old first grader at Sweetwater ISD. This little man was recently diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor and is under hospice care. Randy has told the Make-A-Wish Foundation that he doesn't believe that dreams come true, and they want your help to prove him otherwise.

Here's how you can help:  Randy loves race cars and motorcycles, and this Saturday (9/13), there will be a parade at 10am at Newman Park in Sweetwater to honor him. Make-A-Wish is looking for people with motorcycles, race cars, old cars and muscle cars to participate in the parade. The more, the better.

If you don't have a parade-worthy vehicle, you can still help. Make-A-Wish also wants to fill Newman Park with balloons, and the community is encouraged to help with this need.

All he asked for from Make-A-Wish was an iPad to play racing games. Make-A-Wish will be giving that to Randy Saturday, but want to make this day as special as possible.

If you can take time out of your Saturday morning to help make a little boy's dream come true, contact:

  • Kent Wright at 325-207-3608
  • Devin Blackwell at 325-207-4845
  • Dee Chasteen at 325-207-7937

Please keep Randy and his family in your prayers.
