Those wishing for a snowy Christmas will get their wish as storm systems from Texas to Maine will impact much of the country.

A major winter storm system will impact holiday travel for those in airports and on the highways this Christmas. Flights in the hundreds have either been delayed or cancelled today and through Christmas Day.

Their might also be an outbreak of tornadoes on Tuesday from the Houston area to the Florida Panhandl, according to AccuWeather.com. The storms are expected to hit in the late afternoon and early evening in the affected areas.

Weather in Lubbock for Christmas Eve night call for temperatures to fall into the low 30's and into the mid 20's for Christmas morning. A 20% chance of precipitation is expected for the Lubbock and the South Plains.

If you are flying out of Lubbock Monday or Tuesday, you should call ahead to your airline or check your flight status at FlyLIA.com.
