A longtime Lubbock tradition will open next week.

The City of Lubbock’s Santa Land will open on Tuesday, December 10th at 6 p.m.

Santa Land is held at McKenzie Park each year, and will be open from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. nightly until December 23rd.

Visitors can enjoy live entertainment most evenings from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Hot chocolate and other refreshments are available for sale at the concession stand.

Parents can bring their cameras to take photos of their children with Santa at no charge, and keepsake digital photos may be purchased for five dollars each.

Santa Land features a festive holiday village with a huge lighted Christmas tree, animated displays, bonfires, holiday scenes, and Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Each evening at 6 p.m. during the event, a sleigh with tiny reindeer bring Santa and Mrs. Claus to Santa Land.

Admission is free, and attendees should enter the area from the East Broadway entrance into Mackenzie Park, just east of Avenue A and the South Plains Fairgrounds.
