As of Friday afternoon (August 26), the boil water notice for Lubbock residents affected by the ruptured water line on Saturday, August 20th has been lifted.

Boiling water is no longer needed, says the City of Lubbock. The water pressure in the affected areas has been restored and water samples collected and tested have come back.

Additional work on the ruptured line must still be completed. To allow that repair to continue, southbound traffic on North University Avenue continues to be moved to one lane at Cesar E. Chavez Drive.
