Lubbock Wushu Kungfu World Competition Members to Hold BBQ, Raffle

A local martial arts studio is hosting a cookout this weekend to help raise money for a Lubbock team.

The United States Wushu Kungfu youth team will host the barbeque cookout Saturday, September 1^st at the United Martial Arts Training Center, located at 14208 South Slide Road.

Five young martial artists from the Lubbock studio competed and won positions on the United States World Competition Team last June.

At the event, the group is holding a raffle to help raise money for their travel to the world competition in Macau in September.

Raffle prizes include an iPad 2 and $50 gift cards to Tokyo Restaurant and Saigon Café.

The event will run from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Training Center, and those participating in the raffle do not need to be present to win. Admission to the barbeque is free.
