The West Texas Home Builders Association presented the keys to a brand new home to Army Sergeant and Lubbock native Shawn Walton today.

The three bedroom house is the third home the Lubbock Homes for Heroes program has presented to a wounded warrior.

At this morning’s ceremony which several city, county and state officials attended, Walton expressed his appreciation to the people of Lubbock for their generosity. He also told KFYO News how grateful his family is, "It's amazing they did this for my kids. That's the best part for me, and the backyard for them to play in and to have for barbeques, it's great." Walton's children are ages six years old, three years old and six months old.

Walton was wounded in action while serving in Iraq.

The Walton’s home will be included in this year’s Fall Tour of Homes, which starts September 28th and runs through October 6th.
