A scorching hot Saturday afternoon in Lubbock didn't stop folks from coming out to Tornado Gallery to buy up a range of nerd paraphernalia at a geek garage sale.

The tables boasted $1 comic books, graphic novels, old toys, movies, video games, novelties and more.

Eagle-eyed attendees gawked at an original Nintendo Game Boy handheld system and a very rare Sega Saturn video game console, while children tugged their parents' shirts for some cheap Wii games and kid movies.

The event, put on by local group Lubbock-Con, was held to benefit their upcoming convention of the same name in February 2016. Proceeds from the garage sale's donated items will help fund the event, Lubbock-Con Founder and President DeNae Griffith told us.
