Lubbock Toddler Allegedly Ingests Narcotic, Mother Arrested for Child Endangerment
UPDATE: Ruiz was released from the Lubbock County Detention Center shortly after 4 p.m. on Friday. Efforts to reach Ruiz for comment have been unsuccessful.
Lubbock police reported the arrest of the mother of a three-year-old boy who was brought in for treatment after allegedly ingesting a narcotic.
University Medical Center staff contacted authorities after the child was brought in via EMS on Thursday, February 12. The mother was interviewed and subsequently arrested on one charge of child endangerment, reported police.
Ruiz is being held in the Lubbock County Detention Center with bail set at $25,000. No attorney had been listed for Ruiz as of Friday.
