On Friday's edition of Lubbock's First News, Mary Saathoff from the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra talked with Tom Collins and Laura Mac about some of the orchestra's upcoming shows.

First, LSO will be putting on an education concert on Tuesday, January 14th. Saathoff said that over 5,000 area fifth graders will be in attendance, and that the concert is always a big hit with the kids. She added that although the concert is aimed at kids, the public is also welcome to attend as well.

On January 17th and 18th, LSO will be continuing its 2013-2014 season with the Greatness Concert. The concert will feature selection from composers Franz Schubert, Richard Wagenr and more, as well as bass concerto performed by Mark Morton. Finally, on January 31st, LSO will host a tribute concert to the Beatles, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the group's performance on the Ed Sullivan Show.
