A stabbing in the early morning hours Monday (March 5) left one man in the hospital, and another man on the lam.

According to the Lubbock Police Department, officers responded to a call about a man suffering from a stab wound near the 500 block of 40th Street.

Police believe the victim was involved in a fight with the suspect when he was stabbed. The suspect, who is still on the loose, fled the scene. The victim also left the scene of the crime, but later returned, police said.

The victim, who was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries, has not been named. He is a 31-year-old male.

The stabbing will be investigated as domestic violence by the LPD Family Crimes Unit, the department said in a press release.
