Lubbock Shooting Victim Dies at UMC

A victim of a shooting that occurred Thursday, October 1, in the 2800 block of 1^st Place has died from injuries sustained in the incident.

Police confirmed Friday morning that the victim, who has yet to be identified, passed away at University Medical Center from a gunshot wound to the head.

Lubbock police responded to the scene of the shooting late Thursday night (Oct. 1) around midnight and taped off a home and two vehicles at the scene.

An LPD homicide team has been assigned to this case and continues to investigate.

At this time, no additional details pertaining to the incident or the armed suspect have been released.
