A micro-surfacing project on a busy Lubbock street has been postponed.

The micro-surfacing work on 50th Street between Avenue Q and University Avenue, and University Avenue between 19th and 34th Streets has been temporarily postponed. Currently, all lanes remain open for traffic.

The City of Lubbock expects work to be held off for at least 10 days.

Seal coating work will begin Wednesday, August 8th on 19th Street from Memphis Avenue to Avenue X. TxDOT estimates that the project will take 10 days to complete.

This work is part of the last phase of the 19th Street improvement project, which included the rebuild of the University and Indiana Avenue intersections.

Motorists will not be able to park along the southern 19th Street curb during the seal coating, and any vehicles parked along that curb will be towed.
