Lubbock has been named one of the best run cities by national publication. 24/7 Wall Street named Lubbock the 19th best run city out of the 100 largest cities in the U.S.

The financial news website based their ranking on local economies, fiscal management, and quality of life.

The website said Lubbock benefits from a stable economy, low unemployment, and increased home values. The group also look at city credit ratings, poverty, education, crime, and regional GDP.

Other Texas cities in list are Irving at No. 17, Austin at No. 9, and Plano at No. 1. No Texas cities made the list of "Top 20 Worst Run Cites."
