Lubbock Power and Light announced on Thursday the hiring of a new executive for the municipally owned utility.

LP&L has hired Andy Burcham to be Chief Financial Officer. Burcham served the City of Lubbock as CFO from 2008 to 2012 and spent a year working for Texas Tech University.

The hiring of Andy Burcham as Chief Financial Officer of LP&L will serve as a great benefit to all LP&L customers,” said Gary Zheng, LP&L’s President and CEO.

Andy is a tremendous asset and will be able to use his wealth of knowledge and experience to ensure a superior level of accountability and transparency as LP&L works to secure reliable energy for 2019 and beyond.”

Burcham's responsibilities as CFO include finding solutions for cost savings, improving the billing process for citizens with LP&L, promoting transparency within the utility to the public, and guiding the financial planning of LP&L.
