Lubbock Power and Light issued a statement this afternoon following some outages with Thursday night's thunderstorms.

Around 10:30 p.m. yesterday, LP&L’s emergency operations call center was affected by telephone outages. Phone service remained out until around 4 a.m., causing some customers to call area emergency lines.

LP&L crews were still out late Friday morning working to restore electric service to 310 electric meters.

The utility company estimates that around 16,000 customers experienced electric service interruptions since the storms passed through Lubbock.
