Lubbock Police have released surveillance footage of a fast food store robbery that occurred early this week.

A suspect went into the Whataburger at 50th Street and Utica at around 4 a.m. Monday and went behind the counter.

He displayed a handgun and demanded money from the manager.

Even though both victims working in the store were complying with the suspect’s demands, he fired a shot.

The suspect took money from the register and fled the store on foot before the employees, 55-year-old Juan Landin and 36-year-old Steven Thomas, were able to call police.

The victims were not injured in the incident.

The suspect is described as a male, standing between 5’8" and six feet tall and weighing between 140 to 190 pounds, last seen wearing dark clothing.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Line at 741-1000.
