Lubbock Police Search For Hit & Run Driver, Witnesses

Lubbock Police are searching for witnesses and the motorist that was involved in a hit-and-run on Friday.

The accident occurred just after 5 p.m. Friday in the 5400 block of Bangor Avenue. Seventy-nine year-old Margaret Alford was hit by a vehicle and was found lying in the roadway with severe injuries.

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene without rendering aid to Alford.

Police say that at last report, she remains in critical condition at University Medical Center.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Investigator Purdue at 775-2876, and people may also utilize Crime Line at 741-1000.

Traffic Sergeant Robert Hook reminds citizens that Crime Line pays cash for information regarding serious crimes, and this incident qualifies as serious.
