Lubbock Police have made a determination in the death of a toddler over the weekend.

Police were called to a home in the 4600 block of 42nd Street at around 5 p.m. Saturday, February 15th.

They arrived to find a three-year-old child dead in the home, where she had asphyxiated herself on a curtain string. EMS transported the girl, Avery Acuna-Gomez, to University Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

Juvenile detectives have conducted an investigation, and have determined that the death was accidental.
