A Lubbock police officer was involved in a two-vehicle accident on Thursday.

At around 6:10 p.m., an officer driving a police car was traveling east on 34th street. At the same time, a Jeep was traveling south on an access road when the two vehicles collided, which caused the officer’s car to strike a nearby light pole.

The driver of the Jeep was taken to UMC with minor injuries and the officer was not injured. Police are still investigating what caused the accident.
