A Lubbock Police K-9 unit bagged a suspected burglar on Wednesday afternoon.

Police were called to a burglary in progress in the 2000 block of East 15th Street at around 1:45 p.m. Wednesday.

According to police, the suspect had damaged the walls and ransacked the home.

Upon further investigation, officers realized that the suspect was still in the home, and called in the K-9 unit.

During the search, the suspect, 19-year-old Erick Ernesto Devora, attempted to flee but was caught by the LPD K-9.

Devora was treated by EMS for a dog bite, arrested, and taken to the Lubbock County Jail.

He has been charged with burglary, criminal mischief, and resisting arrest. Devora is being held in lieu of $11,000 bond.
