The Lubbock Police Department is investigating a stabbing that occurred in Northwest Lubbock over the weekend.

Saturday night around 9:30 p.m. police responded to the 5600 block of Grinnell where one person was stabbed in a residence.

The victim of the stabbing was not on the scene when police arrived, but a suspect in the incident was taken to UMC with non-life threatening injuries.

Police told KAMC News a fight broke out between two men in the residence resulting in one man being stabbed.

The suspect was released from police custody pending filing charges.
