Lubbock Police Investigate Midday Shooting

Lubbock Police are conducting an investigation into a shooting death that occurred on Sunday, October 5.

At approximately 1:45 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to a call of shots fired at Eagle Point Town Homes located in the 6100 block of Avenue R.

Officers located victim Ernest Deanthony Turman, 33, and medical professionals pronounced him dead at the scene.

Police have since released a description of the suspect who reportedly stands between 5’8”-5’9” tall and weighs 210 pounds. The man had black skin and long hair and was seen in a blue shirt at the time of the shooting.
