Lubbock police have identified the suspect in a robbery which involved the assault of a DPS trooper.

Authorities believe that 17-year-old Lorenzo Flores was the person who attempted to steal a soda from the United Supermarket located at 4th Street and Slide Road on June 29th.

When Trooper Katrina Jones attempted to stop the suspect, Flores reportedly threw the soda can at her, hitting Jones in the face, and then fled the scene. She received minor injuries from the assault. Jones was working as a security guard at the store that evening.

Police have issued a warrant for Flores, after receiving tips via Crimeline relating to the suspect’s identity.

Flores is described as a Hispanic male, 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing around 170 pounds.
