Lubbock Police Chief Appoints New Assistant Chief

A new assistant chief has been appointed for the Lubbock Police Department.
Captain Jerry Brewer has been chosen by Police Chief Roger Ellis to serve as the Patrol Division assistant chief.
Assistant Chief Robert Esparza retired from the position on April 30th, following 32 years of service. More information is available on Esparza’s retirement here.
Brewer has been with the Lubbock Police Department for 23 years, serving in Patrol, the Drug Enforcement Administration Task Force, and command assignments in the Juvenile Section, Training Section, and Special Operations.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Mississippi, and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
