One person is in police custody after a stabbing on Sunday evening.

Lubbock Police were called to the 7-Eleven at 802 Avenue Q at around 8 p.m. Sunday.

According to officers, 39-year-old Jerry Ybarra had reportedly been stabbed during an altercation at the Traveler’s Inn at 714 Avenue Q. Police say that after the stabbing, the assailant took Ybarra’s personal property.

Ybarra then fled to the 7-Eleven where the clerk called police. He was taken to University Medical Center.

Police arrested 53-year-old Ramond Ledesma, Jr. at Traveler’s Inn. Ledesma has been charged with Aggravated Robbery and theft of property valued at less than $50.

Ledesma is being held in the Lubbock County Jail on more than $25,000 bond.
