One person is in police custody as a result of a shooting at a Lubbock nightclub early Sunday morning.

An altercation began inside the Royal Palace nightclub at 35th Street and Avenue Q just before 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

The fight moved outside, and one person is believed to have opened fire into the crowd, wounding two people.

Lubbock Police have arrested 19-year-old Dajmyn Poindexter, who has been charged with aggravated assault. More charges could be forthcoming at a later time.

Those injured in the incident were 21-year-old Earle Cameron and 26-year-old Misty Johnson, who suffered serious injuries in the shooting.
